Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the RulesAI Discord bot and web portal (the "Service"), operated by RulesAI, an individual sole proprietor. Using the Service means you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

RulesAI lets you write server-management rules in plain English. The compiler translates each rule once into a structured specification that the bot then enforces deterministically. The Service covers moderation, roles, scheduling, polls, contests, and logging.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old and meet Discord's minimum age requirement. You must have the permissions and authority necessary to add and manage a bot on the server. You are responsible for the security of your Discord account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

violate any law or Discord's Terms of Service or community guidelines;
create rules intended to harass, deceive, or harm, or to evade Discord's safety systems;
interfere with, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service;
resell the Service without our written permission.

You are responsible for the rules you create and for the resulting behavior on servers you administer.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the rules and content you create. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and use that content to operate the Service, including sending your rule text to our AI provider for compilation (see the Privacy Policy).

5. AI compilation: important

RulesAI uses an automated AI compiler. Its interpretation is not perfect, and a rule may compile into a specification that does not match your intent. You are responsible for reviewing each rule before enabling it and confirming that its behavior matches what you intended.

For rules that take actions (such as removing messages, assigning roles, or granting rewards), review the readback and test the rule before relying on it. You are solely responsible for the actions the Service takes based on rules you have configured and enabled.

6. Subscriptions and billing

The Service offers a free tier plus one or more paid plans. Current features, limits, and prices are shown on the pricing page at rulesai.app, which forms part of these Terms.

Billing is handled by Stripe on a recurring basis and auto-renews until cancelled.
You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and access continues until then.
Payments are non-refundable except where required by law.
Prices and plans may change with reasonable notice, applying to the next billing period.

7. Availability and changes

We aim for reliability but do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, and may add, change, or remove features.

8. Relationship to Discord

RulesAI is an independent service. It is not created by, affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Discord Inc. "Discord" is a trademark of Discord Inc. Your use of Discord is governed by Discord's own terms.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by removing the bot and cancelling your subscription. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, to comply with legal requirements, or to protect the Service or its users. Sections 4 through 12 survive termination.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT RULES WILL COMPILE OR ENFORCE EXACTLY AS INTENDED.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RULESAI WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY IS CAPPED AT THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE PRIOR 12 MONTHS OR US$50.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RulesAI from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, the rules you configure, or your violation of these Terms or the rights of any third party.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in New York have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
